Max Schorr
Co-founder & Director
I studied public policy, leadership, and community organizing at Duke and University of Cape Town, then joined the Rockefeller Brothers Fund first as Special Assistant to the President and then as Associate Program Officer with responsibility for youth civic engagement nationally, in New York, and in Serbia and Kosovo. Consistent with the "go west" narrative, I moved to San Francisco and struck out on my own as a consultant working with foundations like the Haas Jr. Fund on strategic planning and Blue Shield of California Foundation to design a leadership and capacity-building initiative for the domestic violence field, as well as nonprofits like Glide Church's Children, Youth, and Families center in the Tenderloin.
